Kids Programs at the Library
Preschool Storytime
Regular storytimes take place September through May, on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10:00 (for toddlers) and 10:30 a.m.(for age 3 and older). On the first and third Mondays each month, at 10:30, there is a lapsit storytime session for children younger than 12 months. These programs provide young children with the opportunity to learn social skills in a group situation, to broaden their worlds, and to be introduced to books and the library.
During the summer there are special programs for preschool-age children. See the summer reading program calendars for these events.
Storytime programs depend on the cooperation of parent, child, and storyteller. Our main goal is for everyone to have a good time at the library. To make this experience an enjoyable one for your child, we ask for your cooperation and assistance in the following ways:
Book Reviews by You!
Ms. Rosa has chosen some books she thinks you'd enjoy reading. Click on the "Review A Book" tab above to see the list. After you've read one, you can write your review online. Read other kids' reviews to decide whether you want to read these books!
Kid's Summer Reading Prizes
Congratulations to everyone who participated in Texas Jubilee! this year's summer reading program. We had a lot of fun, read many books, and enjoyed some wonderful programs. To say thanks and reward your hard work, anyone who registered and logged some amount of time or number of books read this summer can come to the children's desk and pick up their prize now through the end of August. Thank you to everyone for making this summer another success.
